Throughout my teenage years, I had a kelpie-X- dingo, “Chief”, and I still believe is my spirit dog. Chief could do dozens of tricks and commands, and if you asked me now how I trained him? It just happened. Telepathy!
Fostering dogs of all shapes and sizes for many years through local rescue groups was always rewarding. Yes, it could be hard to say goodbye, but seeing them finally go to their forever homes was incredibly rewarding.
A few years ago, I decided on a career change, from a Monday-to-Friday office job, and I established Everday Dog Training.
I realised the skills and abilities I possess could be used to help people in their relationships with their dogs. tackling behavioural issues, creating more fun and happy times for both owners and their pets.
I managed to find the most amazing mentor. One of Australia’s top dog trainers for many years, and he took me under his wing, which was invaluable.
I might be a Dog person but I’m also a People person, I have the ability to be able to articulate and ensure that when we are training dogs it’s not just Me training, but a joint effort.
It’s educating owners on how the dogs think and what motivates them so that it will increase the likelihood and success of your dog’s future training.

My goal is for your dog to continue to perform as trained when under your supervision as owner, and that comes from the owner understanding “how” and “why” behaviour.
So back in 2021, I made the decision that I would like to formalise this and undertook formal studies to get my certification in dog behaviour and training through the National Dog Training Federation (NDTF).
I continually seek to develop myself as a trainer creating strong relationships with like-minded trainers and attending workshops and seminars where possible. You can never know enough!
The concept of what The Everyday Dog Trainer offers isn’t anything too fancy. I’m not training for competition heels. I’m not training for agility.
I’m training the everyday backyard dog on how to have the appropriate behaviours and just be a joy to be around.
So that you can feel confident taking your dog anywhere and at any time.

Finally whilst I get a thrill out of helping owners finally be able to enjoy walks with their dogs, or take their dogs to a café or the beach I also really enjoy the challenges of trick training.
Training the dog is only 50% of the problem.
When it comes to training you, the owners, I make the learning experience fun and relevant.
My goal is to coach and educate you so that when I’m not around you still can train and develop your dog.
